When my husband’s parents gave my daughter a dress for her birthday, she jumped with excitement. Then she noticed something on the dress. The moment I saw what it was, my hands began to tremble.
For my daughter’s eighth birthday, we had planned a small family celebration. Everything was going wonderfully until it was time to open the presents.
Like any child, she could hardly wait to see what she had received. There were dolls, beautiful dresses, and other thoughtful gifts. But out of everything she unwrapped, the dress from my husband’s parents quickly became her favorite.

The moment she saw it, she jumped with excitement and exclaimed:
— Mom, look! It’s exactly the dress I wanted!
She had spotted that dress a few days earlier and hadn’t stopped talking about it. I couldn’t afford to buy it for her because it was far too expensive. Instead, I bought her a very similar dress.
Then she suddenly froze, pointed at the dress, and asked:
— Mom… what’s this?
The moment I saw what she was pointing at, my hands began to tremble.

There were strange red stains embedded in the fabric. They looked almost too real to have appeared by accident.
My hands began to tremble.
I couldn’t understand how a brand-new dress, carefully wrapped by my in-laws, could have such a flaw.
I gently took the dress from my daughter and examined it more closely. They weren’t actually dangerous stains, but rather what looked like a manufacturing defect—as if red dye had accidentally seeped into the fabric during production.

My daughter looked at me with a puzzled expression, unable to understand why I had suddenly fallen silent.
I gently explained that the dress had a small manufacturing defect, but that we could take it back to the store and exchange it for a new one. 😕😕
